If you've never heard of the term, "Functional Fitness", it's one of the latest types of workout programs that involves a combination of flexibility, coordination, cardio conditioning, core work and good old fashion strength (light) training. Rather than concentrating on a single muscle or muscle group, Functional Fitness exercises involves different muscle groups to work together. You'd be suprised how these exercises can assist you in everyday activities such as long drives, lifting a heavy suitcase, carrying groceries or even a child.
You might of heard of the term, "Boot Camp" or "CrossFit" which is associated with a very high intensity and high impact workoutsfor young adults. Functional Fitness is a LOW IMPACT & LOW INTENSITY exercise program for anyone at any age that wants to improve their fitness, stamina, flexibility and overall health. Beginners, Office Workers, Golfers, to name a few, will all benefit from this type of workout.
